Learn to spin custom yarn with private drop spindle and spinning wheel classes taught at our Dumbo studio.
Start your fiber journey at the source by learning the integral art form of hand-spinning. You will learn the fundamental process of turning fiber to yarn, including drafting, carding and blending techniques, how to use different spinning tools and how to spin natural roving wool into single-ply and two-ply yarn. You will take home approximately 35g or more of your own hand-spun yarn!

Drop Spindle
Drop spindle provides a convenient and portable method for spinning. We recommend taking our Drop Spindle Class before moving on to Spinning Wheel, to establish foundational understanding of the spinning process.
$180 / 2 x 2-HOUR CLASSES
Spinning Wheel
Spinning wheel is faster and produces more yarn than drop spindle, but requires knowledge of drafting technique. For this reason, we recommend students take our Drop Spindle class first. We teach on an Ashford Kiwi3 Spinning Wheel.
