Honoring Misao Jo who founded SAORI to inspire and guide us.
Misao Jo, a leader of the SAORI weaving community, a guidance of SAORI's way, a miner of all SAORI weavers, an educator, a writer, a haiku-poet, an activist, a philosopher, a feminist, an artist, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, passed away before her 105th birthday in January 2018. In order to grieve the loss of my mentor who led my life, I would like to inherit her beliefs and keep doors open so that all people can experience SAORI weaving and its spirituality. She found the best in others and gave the best she had. We won't forget her great love.

Present your woven message to Misao through your personal SAORI work. Please weave a 12" x 12" piece, and drop it off at Loop of the Loom by March 18. Loop of the Loom is collecting the tapestry weavings to dedicate to Misao's farewell event in Japan on March 24. To honor her generosity and gifts, we will now give back to her memory. We appreciate your time and love.
